Having a better climbing speed right off the bat (ha!) is an advantage. Cat’s Claws are what makes this race ideal for a burglar like our girl.You can flavor it as an acrobatic flourish across the room, for that classic Catwoman feel.
She has to spend a turn stationary to reset this ability, but it really plays into the agile nature of her combat style.
Feline Agility lets Catwoman move twice her speed in a turn as a free action, giving Selina 60 feet of base movement. We can flavor this as Catwoman’s goggles in-game. Darkvision is natural for a cat burglar, both helpful and in-character. As it stands, we’ll be playing in a D&D realm, so an elegant language like Elvish or Celestial works here. Extra language: In an Earth-bound campaign, I’d say French is canon for Catwoman. She’ll be as agile as she is charming, and we’ll talk about how best to crank those stats to the max later on. +2 to DEX and +1 to CHA are purrfect for our feline fiend. But in the spirit of the Catwoman herself… let’s break the rules. Should not strictly adhering to the proper race offend your sensibilities, Variant Human is what you should stick with. If she was in a D&D setting, Tabaxi would work extremely well for her skill set. (I’ll leave now.) But seriously, if it was my campaign, I’d even give Selina the Tabaxi racial template as a Human. The Tabaxi Selina Kyle isn’t just a cat, or a woman. However, it’s a rare opportunity that more than one race might work for the subject of our build let’s stretch our minds a bit, and break outside of the PHB for a change. Any build for her can always use an extra feat, so Variant Human is the way to go for tip-top optimization. Just like our previous builds (and a great many more, I suspect) Selina Kyle is a Human.
